Home Away From Home

Home Away from Home is a support group that offers a safe, caring and supportive atmosphere to newcomers of different cultures. It provides necessary services to meet immigrant and newcomer’s needs, whether they are social, economic, linguistic or community-linking.

Home Away From Home will now be meeting weekly on July and August.

As of August 2018, the following are our confirmed upcoming activities:

Friday, August 3rd     11:00-3:00pm

Centennial Park, Duncan Museum, 39 Days of July

Meet at the office at 11am or at Centennial Park at 11:30am.

Duncan Museum at 1pm

39 Days of July Stage at 2pm

Friday, August 17th     10:00-3:00pm

Blueberry picking and picnic at Blue Heron Park

Bring your lunch/snack, chair/blanket, lots of sunscreen and water. Meet at the office at 10am-back at around 3pm

Optional: Bring cash for your blueberries or any purchases at the farm

Friday, August 24th      11:30-3:00pm

Picnic at Transfer Beach, Ladysmith

Bring your lunch/snack, chair/blanket, lots of sunscreen and water. Meet at the office at 11am or meet you there at 11:30am-back at around 3pm

Friday, August 31st    10:00-3:00pm

Hike to Kinsol Trestle, Shawnigan Lake

Bring your lunch/snack, chair/blanket, lots of sunscreen and water.

Meet at the office at 10am-back at around 3pm
