Home Away From Home
Home Away from Home is a support group that offers a safe, caring and supportive atmosphere to newcomers of different cultures. It provides necessary services to meet immigrant and newcomer’s needs, whether they are social, economic, linguistic or community-linking.
Home Away From Home will now be meeting bi-monthly. The new schedule is as follows: one information session (combined HAFH and LINC-English class) on a Wednesday afternoon (except the first week of October 2017) and one Women’s Group social/mingle & chat activity.
As of September 2017, the following are our confirmed upcoming activities:
Monday, September 25th at 1:30pm EMERGENCY PREPAREDNESS with Sybil Sanderson
Wednesday, October 25th at 1:30pm BRAIN FITNESS with Chris Rafuse
October-Date/time to be confirmed Folk Dancing (Thank you Hanna for organizing)
Wednesday, November 22nd at 1:30pm 3 R’S-REDUCE, REUSE, RECYCLE with Ilse Salady
November-Date/time to be confirmed Social/mingle & chat (yoga, Zumba)
No information session in December Winter break
December-Date/time to be confirmed Annual Winter Potluck and Secret Santa
