Labour Market Legacies Project
The Cowichan Intercultural Society (CIS) was fortunate to receive funding to conduct a research project and develop resources for immigrant job seekers in the Cowichan Valley. CIS created a series of five industry-specific short films that showcased guided workplace visits and facilitated dialogue between local employers and job-seeking immigrants.
In its entirety, the Labour Market Legacies Project has encouraged immigrant labour market attachment, informed newcomers of local hiring practices and identified to employers the reasons for, benefits and challenges of, hiring immigrants.
