Indonesia is coming to town!

Canada World Youth is proud to announce that Duncan has once again been selected to be a host community for our international educational program, Youth Leaders in Action, in which a group of 18 youth from Canada and Indonesia will be staying from October 7th to January 3rd.

During their stay, the young people will take part in various volunteer projects in the community, organizing events and activities and developing their communication and leadership skills while living a memorable experience.

Do you want to get involved in this amazing adventure? Become a host family and share your daily activities with Canada World Youth participants. We invite people of all ages, ethnicities, faiths, genders, sexual orientations, family types, and more to express their interest. By hosting two participants (one from Indonesia and one from Canada), you will be making a difference in the lives of two young people. You will also discover a new culture! In addition, host families receive a weekly allowance of $180.

Arrival of Canadian and Indonesian youth volunteers in Duncan:  October 7th 2014

Living with families:  October 11th 2014 to January 3rd 2015

If this experience interests you or you would like more information, please contact Julie Pyon at 250-709-4557 or jpyon@cwy-jcm.org

Goodbye Anna!

We were very fortunate to have Anna with us for three months as our Office Intern.  Anna came all the way from Germany to volunteer in this little community.  Pretty Special!

Thank you, Anna!

Multiculturalism Day!

Listening to music, making peace flags, and enjoying tasty food! What a lovely way to celebrate Canadian Multiculturalism Day.

Thank you to the Alsadoon family for the delicious snacks, to Mbira Spirit for the beautiful music, Laura and the DBIA (Downtown Duncan) for being SO helpful, and Marcel Aubin (and Trevor) for the crystal clear sound! Thank you to our sponsors, Canadian Heritage.  And thank you to everyone who attended!

Would you come to another lunch time event in City Square? Let us know!
